Transportation
Being the hub of San Francisco Bay Area, Berkeley
is served by three major airports namely, Oakland International,
San Francisco International and San Jose International. Also with
the BART (Bart Area Rapid Transit) and other ground transportations,
getting to Berkeley and strolling in the city is relatively easy.
These services can be easily accessed through the web or a phone
call.
To get in to Berkeley, Oakland International Airport
is the most preferred as Berkeley is at least an hour's drive from
San Francisco and San Jose is quite far from the city. There are
also ferries if you prefer to go for a scenic method of travel to
reach Berkeley. Bus services are also in plenty, so travelling is
no big deal in Berkeley.
Berkeley also offers a wide range of local transports
which include bus services, rental cars and taxi services. These
services are easily available in all the airports. You will find
yourself at ease in getting in and around the city. AC transit,
which is the oldest transit system, offers flexible, safe, convenient,
courteous and reliable transit service in and around Bay Area.
Covering the entire Downtown Berkeley BART, Clark
Kerr campus, Richmond Field Station, north and south sides of the
UC campus, is the Bear Transit. This UC Berkeley's shuttle system
provides convenient transport between campuses.
Berkeley provides various modes of transport.
Whether you are commuting to work or enjoying a weekend with friends
